AA batteries with adjustable voltage

I never have enough AA batteries lying around to use in remote controllers or various other devices that need up to 6 1.5V batteries. So I designed a power converter that fits in the form factor of a AA battery with selectable voltages between 1.5V up to 12V multiples of 1.5V that can be used instead.
The design is based on a SEPIC converter that converts battery or USB power.
